Working together
The well-known Go for It programme is the collective responsibility of all eleven councils with the contract being managed by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council.
Charlene added: “I was very pleased with the Go for It programme and found the advice given to be very beneficial in compiling my detailed business plan. As a professional dog groomer, who previously worked for a salary, it was very daunting to take the step to self-employment and I valued the support provided by LEO. At Cool K9s I will aim to provide a friendly, affordable, professional and reliable service. I look forward to meeting new clients and their owners.”
Alderman Leathem concluded: “Go for It is an important business start-up programme, and the Council is delighted to hear that by the end of July 2,000 new businesses will have taken part in this programme since September 2017. If you live in the Lisburn Castlereagh area and wish to start your own business then be part of the Go for It programme. Locally based advisors will provide you with advice and support to start the wheels moving for any business idea, large or small.
Budding entrepreneurs
“I would like to congratulate all our budding entrepreneurs as they get their businesses up and growing. We look forward to seeing thousands more new businesses start-up with Go for It support over the remainder of this year.”
The Go For It project is part-funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) Programme.
