The Go For It Programme will host the first in a series of ‘Confessions of a Start-up Business Owner’ workshops aimed at inspiring local entrepreneurs to take that first step to starting their own business.
This project is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) Programme.
The one-hour virtual workshop will provide local people with honest and inspirational insights from successful entrepreneurs on their path to success. They will talk candidly about how they conquered their fears to launch their very own business and share their motivations for success.
Attendees will also have the chance to ask a Business Advisor questions about a business idea they might have and how the Go For It Programme can help them turn that idea into a reality.
Dave Linton – Founder of Madlug
Madlug is a lifestyle brand with a difference. Selling predominantly rucksacks and holdalls, the brand helps give dignity to children in care.
Dave Linton founded Madlug in 2015 after he was heartbroken to learn that most children in care transport their worldly belongings in a bin bag. In that moment, Dave set out to do something about it as he believed that no child should carry their life in a bin bag. With just £480, he started Madlug and came up with the ‘Buy one Give one’ approach: with every bag you purchase, one will be given to a child in care.
Madlug is now one of the UK’s top selling bag brands and has donated over 20,000 bags to children in care.

GO FOR IT ENTREPRENEUR
Laura Irwin – Co-Owner of Noble Spaces
Laura Irwin from Dungannon completed the Go For It Programme alongside her father, Johnson Irwin, and both didn’t let the coronavirus pandemic stop them in their pursuit of launching their business.
Laura and her father launched Noble Spaces in July 2020 after spotting a gap in the market for a manufacturer of high quality, energy efficient turn-key Scandinavian timber modules for residential and commercial purposes.
