The Kick Start Programme aims to offer business support to micro micro-businesses throughout the district to increase business survival rates and assist businesses in developing and creating additional employment.
The Kick Start Programme will target and support those businesses who have participated in Go For it and individuals who have set up in business through other means and have been in business for no longer than three years and provide them with a quicker intervention to enable them as swiftly as possible to grow, and to provide greater and additional employment within the district.

The Kick Start Programme has a two tier approach of support to businesses as follows:

Tier 1 – a series of workshops covering key business topics such as accessing finance; recruitment of staff; financial management & bookkeeping and marketing to businesses within the first 12 months of completing Go For it or setting up business through other means.

Tier 2 – up to a maximum of four days one-to-one mentor support to businesses still in operation 12 months and up to a maximum of 36 months after completing Go For it or setting up by other means and who can demonstrate the potential to create jobs.
