New high end travel company takes off in Holywood

DATE: 23/10/18

COUNCIL AREA: Ards and North Down Borough Council

A passion for travel and the desire to provide customers with a top-class service has led to creation of a new travel company based in Holywood thanks to the Go For It Programme, in association with Ards and North Down Borough Council.

The Go For It Programme is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth and Jobs Northern Ireland (2014-2020) programme.

Hide and Seek Travel is the brainchild of Jamie Pallin who wants to offer his high-end services to enthusiasts and adventurous travellers from around the world.

Jamie, says his aim is to fill a gap in the market offering customers a range of specialist tailor-made holidays with bespoke travel itineraries for a truly unforgettable experience in East Africa, South Africa and the Indian Ocean with the aim of expanding the reach of the business to the Indian Sub-continent, Central Asia, Latin America and Antarctica.

With a passion for adventure and a love of global travel. Jamie has drawn on his own globetrotting adventures as well as over 10 years’ experience working within the luxury travel industry to establish the independent holiday company.

“We provide really solid on the ground knowledge and aim to offer our clients the experience of a lifetime by providing them with the best travel options they can afford.”

Jamie’s dream of opening a bespoke travel company became a reality after taking part in Go For It. It provides expert advice and help developing a business plan to help entrepreneurs turn ideas into commercial businesses.

Commenting on the success of the programme Jamie said; “Having a great concept for a business is one thing but being able to further develop it and turn that idea into a reality is quite complex and often requires knowledge outside of your skill set.

“Often it is hard to know where to start; that was my experience before starting the Go For It Programme. The support and guidance offered through it helped me fine tune my business idea from concept to working reality. They helped me with practical things at the start like setting out a business plan and doing a detailed analysis. The fact the services are free is amazing as they would normally be outside the realms of a small start up business to have access to these services.

“I would urge anyone who has ever had the idea of starting up their own business, or even if you have just started operating your own business to apply for a place on the Go For It Programme. The skills and knowledge imparted is immeasurable and importantly Hide & Seek Travel is now official trading. I am excited by the future ahead!”

Emma Pearson, Business Advisor with North Down Development Organisation Ltd, on behalf of Ards and North Down Borough Council, said: “Jamie has extensive experience in this industry, so when he joined the Go For It Programme, he had a clear vision for how he wanted to shape his business venture.

“We worked with Jamie to tweak and fine tune his business plan, helping him iron out any weaknesses that he might have had and ensuring he had the confidence in his business proposition for the short and long term.”
